Our Contribution

AREAS OF MISSION

To comply with the Political Constitution of the Republic and other legal bodies, the Army develops its tasks in five areas of mission, guiding its work and focusing its efforts and resources. Through this action plan the Army achieves the results expected by the authority and society.   

Contribution of national development and state action

Includes tasks that aim to contribute to the presence of the State all around the territory, support national connectivity and the development of infrastructure for isolated and remote areas of the country in order to collaborate in exercising sovereignty within the national territory.

Contribution to nacional sovereignty

Includes tasks that aim to contribute to the presence of the State all around the territory, support national connectivity and the development of infrastructure for isolated and remote areas of the country in order to collaborate in exercising sovereignty within the national territory.

Support to the community

Includes tasks carried out in order to support remote communities in the national territory.

They include medical assistance, transportation of the sick or organs, and support to communities in need in situations different from emergencies or catastrophes.

Support to national scientific research

Includes tasks performed to support scientific research carried out in the country in conjunction with external public or private centers.

Military technology research and development

Includes tasks aimed at developing new technologies for defense institutions in order to improve their processes, operation and sustainment.

Manufactoring, maintenance and quality control for material and equipment

It groups tasks whose purpose is to manufacture, service and control the quality of military weapons, material and equipment autonomously or in conjunction with private companies.

Safeguarding the environment

Includes tasks related to controlling, preventing and caring for the environment in Chile or in areas where the State has become internationally committed to do so, becoming part of the National System of Environmental Management of the State.
